Nick has spent the past 25 years immersed in all aspects of intellectual property prosecution, evaluation and litigation. Developing and managing both patent and trademark portfolios for medium and large-size companies, Nick has offered counsel on a wide range of integrated intellectual property issues, including international trade disputes, licensing agreements and related negotiations. Nick has prosecuted and gained allowance for hundreds of patents.
Nick received an electrical engineering degree from Union College, as well as a law degree from American University in Washington, DC. Prior to private practice, Nick spent almost a decade working at the US Patent and Trademark Office, examining patent applications primarily in the electrical arts.
As a former shareholder of a regional intellectual property law firm, Nick’s practice encompasses not only U.S. companies, but includes extensive relations with foreign clients, patent offices and associate intellectual property professionals in virtually every country of the world. In particular, Nick has developed a strong network of intellectual property professors and attorneys within China, South America and Europe, and is adept at bringing quality work and responsive solutions to his clients wherever they may reside or do business.
